Vote March 25 for a brighter future for Andover Public Schools.
Why I am running for the Andover School Committee
Like many of our neighbors, we moved here because Andover is a great place to raise a family. I am a passionate proponent of public education but didn’t think I had anything of value to contribute to Andover Public Schools (APS) because education is a complex topic and my professional expertise is in leadership, strategy and finance. But APS’s current challenges, including a multi-year budget deficit, excessive enrollment decline, and poor labor relations are exactly the kind of challenges that I am well equipped to solve after my experience from a twenty year career on Wall St and as a co-founder and CEO of an innovative investor-backed startup.
Earning an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, where I graduated first in my program, I gained a deep understanding of finance and other technical topics I believe will be extremely useful as we seek to sustainably serve our kids as well as we can. Rising through the ranks at MetLife, Bank of New York Mellon and EY and then building a company all the way from a sketch on a paper napkin to a multi-million dollar venture, I proudly earned the confidence of my colleagues by encouraging a culture of respectful and insightful debate that is informed by quality analysis and conducted with a collegial tone and thoughtful communication.
It’s inspiring to consider that Andover has thrived for over 375 years in large part because its residents have consistently gone above and beyond to make it so. I will be grateful for the opportunity to do my part and am confident that together we can overcome the challenges facing APS and continue to thrive for centuries to come.
